History of Jewish community in Lviv. Lviv is a famous center of Hewish culture. Jews as one of the largest ethnic groups arrived to Lviv in the 13th century.In this time were opened 45 Jewish synagogues.
You will be able to see Holocaust memorial, a building of former Jewish hospital, the synagogue of the Progress order, the house of Jewish community, a house where famous Jewish write Sholom Aleikhem lived for some time, and the only existing and functioning synagogue in Lviv. Also you will visit Jewish entombment at Yaniv cemetery and the monument to the victims of Lviv ghetto during the World War II time.
You will also visit the territory of old Jewish quarter in the city centre. You’ll see the remnants of the most famous and mysterious synagogue called ”Golden Rose”.
